Having only been featured twice previously in select fashion forward cities such as Paris and Milan, Men's Fashion Week has finally found it's way to Asia with Singapore landing hosting duties for it's Inaugural 2011 Men's Fashion Week.
The 2011 Men's Fashion Week is the first ever fashion event in the Asia Pacific is a departure to the hugely successful female-centric fashion world and is instead dedicated to leading men’s fashion, designers, brands and talent. The five-day inaugural men’s fashion event will be held from March 30 to April 3 and will showcase the Autumn/Winter 2011 collections of up to 15 renowned brands from Singapore, the Asian region and internationally, with additional brands that are continuing to be confirmed leading up to the debut.
Asian male supermodel, Philip Huang, who has walked the runways of Paris, Milan and New York, has been appointed the “face” of Men's Fashion Week 2011 Singapore and will take on the catwalk for various brands during the five-day fashion event including Boss Black by Hugo Boss, Canali, Dress Camp, Emmanuel, Etro, G.I.L. Homme, Raoul, Shanghai Tang, and Versace.
Philip Huang is widely known as the first Asian male model to have broken the race barriers and ascended the fashion ladder to supermodel status. Not only is he the perfect candidate to promote Men's Fashion Week 2011, with more and more Fashion houses hiring Asian models to reach Asia's affluent, Philip Huang is also an ideal representation of Asian success in the fashion world.
Men's Fashion Week 2011 Signapore will serve as a platform to showcase the talents of the emerging Asian fashion scene as well as preview upcoming trends in Men's Fashion. Among the featured and notable Asian fashion experts will be David Gan, who will be on the creative styling panel during the campaign. The celebrity stylist and hair guru to the stars, David Gan is an icon due to his meteoric rise to promenince.
Also, exclusive to Men's Fashion Week 2011 in Singapore, is the launch of Dr. Georgia Lee's new DrGL men's line of skincare. The fashion and beauty maven remarked that “a lot of men’s skincare products have been formulated with a Western aesthetic, whereas this line has been specially formulated to meet the needs of the Asian skin as our climate is uniquely different. With MFW 2011 Singapore happening, I couldn’t think of a better time than now to launch my new line for men!”
The event will be stationed at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore.
